Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening that revives the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).
Sidney Bechet Prize from the Jazz Academy in 1995, Michel Bonnet discovered jazz in 1974 by hearing the “Haricots Rouges” orchestra. In 1979 he founded his first orchestra with friends: “Les Tom-Cat” and remained for almost 10 years in this sextet which performed among others in Antibes Juan les Pins (1987) and at the great parade in Nice (1990). ). At the same time, he plays with Gilbert Leroux, Raymond Fonsèque, Les Globe Trotters.
Currently he is in charge of “Mem’Ory”, a New Orleans jazz sextet dedicated to the music of Kid Ory. He is also part of: Louis Prima Forever, Soul Serenade, Marc Laferrière quintet, the big band Paris Swing Orchestra and Les Rois du Foxtrot. He is also the co-leader with Michel Bescont of the 5tet Bean Soup which pays homage to the compositions of Coleman Hawkins.
Michel Bonnet and his friends will play the great swing standards (hot jazz) this evening!
