Every Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Chez Georges welcomes the Alex Swing Events collective, which offers a varied and quality program, following a repertoire of swing / gypsy jazz, the music of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, and many others!

Chez Georges is a very pleasant wine bar on rue des canettes, with a magnificent vaulted cellar in the basement, transformed on Tuesday into a gypsy jazz club!

Raphaël Faÿs was born with a guitar in his arms, to a jazz guitarist father who had a dazzling and promising start to his career. He revisits the repertoire of his master Django Reinhardt and is recognized as the gifted heir of the tradition.
The musical universe of Raphaël Faÿs crosses Europe. His playing is made up of a colossal amount of guitar experiences. The relevance of this approach is above all the passion that Raphaël devotes to the acoustic guitar, whether jazz from Django, classical or Flamenco.

He became passionate about flamenco from 1987 when he met Paco de Lucia in Paris. At that time, he was already recognized as a virtuoso of classical guitar as well as jazz guitar. Although his technical ease favors a rapid learning of the flamenco technique which he performs with the “poua” called plectrum, it seems that, probably out of modesty, he waited many years before daring to center his work on this style. . He has already composed numerous flamenco-inspired works: bulerias, alegrias, Fandango…. a perfect success that he expresses brilliantly in his extraordinary and original interpretation.
In fact, it offers a new perspective on this music and in a certain way broadens its contours.

Raphaël Fays does more than synthesize two styles of gypsy and flamenco, he reflects what, beyond the borders of Spain and Eastern Europe, is common to these two gypsy communities that are the European gypsy and the Spanish-Andalusians. History has pushed them apart but their history is common.
There are few musicians who, like Raphaël Faÿs, have been able to explore musical fields as varied as they are demanding with the same conviction, the same probity and the same happiness. More than the performance, it is the humanity and generosity of the approach that should be saluted today.

Raphaël Faÿs' flamenco is quite simply his music, which he wants to share with the public. He continues his path and asserts himself with his own style!
