Alexandre Herer — ‘Nunataq'

After a dozen albums on Fender Rhodes, with OXYD, Magic Malik Fanfare XP, and Nunataq, Alexandre Herer has developed several writing concepts around this instrument, and refined his improvisational language.

Following on from his first album, Nunataq2 features open, aerial and deliberately cold music, inspired in part by Greenland's great expanses of ice, witness to a past climate resolutely threatened by modern man. Often soaring and heady, the music on this album is based on rhythms and grooves that are sometimes experimental and sometimes simple. Alexandre draws on different harmonic and melodic worlds, from contemporary and pop music.
