The Hypnotiks Avec Indy Ika Et Gabe Zinq

The Hypnotiks, one of Paris’s leading soul/funk bands, return to the Sunset stage in force on June 22. This experienced old-school collective offers a unique blend of « downtown soul » and « uptown funk. » With the start of summer, The Hypnotiks have chosen to pay tribute to California soul. For this exceptional evening, the group invites Indy Eka and Wolfgang Valbrun – two fellow travelers – to celebrate the soul tradition of this « West Coast » state. California may be best known for its « Flower Power » years, but it also has a long tradition of soul and funk, with the likes of Sly and the Family Stone, Tower of Power and, more recently, Anderson .Paak. They’ll be on the bill tonight, but don’t be surprised to hear a bit of the Mamas and Papas too, soul version of course!
