Thursday April 18: "Le Temps Suspendu" By Diego Im
With “Le Temps Suspendu”, the fourth opus of Diego Imbert's quartet which celebrates in its own way the centenary of the death of Marcel Proust, the group follows the paths opened by the piano-less quartet of Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker and Ornette Coleman, to finally trace his own path, thus offering new perspectives. By removing any harmonic instrument, the musicians know that they have imposed this risk on themselves, inviting them to broaden their role in search of lost chords which requires them to demonstrate increased reactivity and interaction. The musicians of the quartet, whose complicity has not been denied for years, explore the sounds, mix the timbres to finally produce this sound and this musical color which is so specific to them where the chords found intermingle wonderfully. (Vincent Oudot).
