Andrea Glockner — ‘Across The Lines’

The music of Andrea Glockner's quartet is based on the musicians' past, their personal experiences and what they have to say. Their jazz, between tradition and modernity, is influenced by other musics such as rock and funk for their energy and free improvisation, but also hip hop for its fluidity and lightness.
Born of a meeting at the Italian National Jazz Academy, the complicity between the musicians, the pleasure of playing together and the desire to share their music are evident in the group. The quartet is made up of Italian-Dominican pianist Santiago Fernandez, Silvia Bolognesi on electric bass, a symbol of free improvisation in Italy, and Swiss-Italian drummer Alessandro Alarcon. Andrea Glockner plays a variety of unconventional brass instruments, similar to the slide trombone. His aim is to bring out the colors and nuances of each of them.
