Lyssarides & Prokopiou Duet — Carte Blanche

A brand-new collaboration between award-winning pianist Joel Lyssarides and Greek bouzouki phenomenon Georgios Prokopiou, blending their diverse backgrounds in Swedish, Greek, jazz and classical music.

Joel Lyssarides, a Swede with Greek roots, explores the roots of the historic bouzouki with Prokopiou. This variant of a shell-necked lute is firmly rooted in the traditions of Greek music. Thanks to their sensitivity and unerring artistic intuition, the two musicians succeed in making the instrument shine in a new, contemporary light. The result is an impressive evening, full of musical depth and emotionally-charged sound images.
