The fruit of a transcultural Afro-diasporic quest, Kikun Pelu Mi Wa “painting with my origins in Yoruba” is a very personal and ambitious project nourished by Afro-Cuban roots, both cultural and religious, which marks in his career a new musical writing. He takes us to the heart of the first influences of his childhood in the heart of the port city of Matanzas, one of the main cradles of Afro-Cuban music.

This album is the culmination of a long work of analysis in the process of creation and writing where a singular encounter between his origins and jazz is woven. He composed the music for this variable geometry formation and surrounded himself with musicians with whom he has collaborated for many years. There we find a fluidity of play, which reflects a subtle dialogue, a complicity woven over the years.
