Deeply influenced by American jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald and Jay Jay Johnson, Gabrielle Rachel revisits this music through original compositions and standards. The trombone, as rich in dramatic expressiveness as it is in energy, is often considered the instrument closest to the voice. In turn, Gabrielle Rachel makes them whisper deafly, sing of human passions and the sounds of nature, burst into horrific screams, intone a clamor of joy or sound a hymn to love.
