Jeanne Michard And Her Latin Quintet

Jeanne Michard has established herself as THE French tenor saxophonist to watch.

French Revelation 2022 by the editors of Jazz Magazine and Jazz News, then Revelation of the Victoires du Jazz 2023, she continues the flourishing adventure of her Latin 5tet, between Paris, New York and Havana.

Jeanne Michard speaks passionately of the sound of the 1940s tenor on which she has found her own: full and round in the low register, voluntarily tonic and lilting. Surrounding her is a talented band whose friendship, listening and curiosity are the key to their success: Clément Simon on piano, Maurizio Congiu on double bass, and Pedro Barrios and Lucas Dauchez on drums.

You have to see them live on stage (at Jazz In Marciac or Le Bal Blomet, for example) to appreciate the positive energy they exude, and the resolutely fresh, mixed and modern image they project.
