Simon Martineau Trio

More than a simple refocusing on the guitar dictated by the trio formula, Simon Martineau seizes upon it in a very personal way. At ease with this instrumentation, which allows him to take the music wherever he wants, he appreciates the great freedom it gives the musicians, each participating equally in the elaboration of the whole. In fact, it's the group's collective playing and sound that predominate, from the very first listen, over and above the mere expression of individual virtuosity. 
For this project, Simon Martineau has surrounded himself with two musicians he knows well: drummer Thomas Delor and bassist Gabriel Midon, with whom he has already collaborated on 5 albums. The ability of these musicians to listen and improvise, their unique sound, their ability to take on the proposed repertoire and their total involvement in the music are the great qualities of this trio, marked by constant complicity and interaction.
