Like his brothers of stage and heart, Bèlènou, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Sonny Troupé and Mario Canonge, Grégory Privat is today considered one of the spearheads of the Caribbean jazz scene. His year 2024 opens under the sign of Phoenix, the name of his new album, which perfectly symbolizes this career of eternal artistic rebirth where each track is a pretext for new explorations, celebrating life, history and encounters. On July 12, the Palais Longchamp will shine with a thousand and one Caribbean stars, featuring spirituality, Creole songs tinged with urban pop and electro.

With a baritone voice so recognizable and compelling, his mastery of the deepest traditions of soul, jazz and gospel, Gregory Porter has established himself as one of America's most acclaimed singers. A 2-time Grammy award winner in Vocal Jazz, 2014 and 2017, his artistry and sensitivity place this charismatic performer in the lineage of the greatest singers like Nat “King” Cole, one of his heroes. His very first album dedicated to Christmas, recorded with the legendary “Blue Note” label, pays tribute to his masters including Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, as well as to standards. For Gregory Porter, Christmas is a time for sharing: “I'm always thinking about balance,” he explains, “and that's something that's been passed on to me, and it keeps coming back in my music. And for Marseille Jazz des cinq continents, it's the promise of an exceptional moment on the summer stage of the Palais Longchamp.
