Jam Session Avec Ludovic De Preissac
Hommage à Don Grollnick et autour de Steps Ahead #MarathonFestivalEstivalDeJam
Ludovic De Preissac offers a broad universe nourished by various influences which gives pride of place to Latin music (Bossanova, Latin jazz) but always anchored in a traditional jazz to which he remains faithful. Accompanied by a rhythm section as effective as it is jubilant, these two evenings under the sign of sharing will leave room for surprising encounters, without a doubt. Don Grolnick, our master of the day, is a true New Yorker, born in Brooklyn on September 23, 1947 in the Levittown neighborhood. He starts with the accordion and follows his parents who will happily listen to the big band of Count Basie or Erroll Garner for example. It's decisive. He will be with the Brecker brothers at the very beginning of the epic of the "Brecker Brothers" then at the foundations of the group "Steps" which will later become "Steps Ahead". A composer, he provided jazz and its various fusions with themes that have become standard; instrumental first, then "parolized" by singers passionate about his music. It is our path today to follow an economical virtuoso and a swing lover who is never late for a smile or a melodic play on words. The Jam Sessions at Baiser Salé are known and recognized, we can congratulate ourselves on their success and recognition for more than thirty years. Frequented by all the best in terms of artistic quality, they are highly sought after and appreciated by great musicians passing through Paris (Danilo Perez, Quincy Jones, Roy Hargrove, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona, Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham etc., etc..)
