Jam Session With François Constantin
Stevie Wonder Tribute
18th edition of the #FestivalEstivalDeJam with François Constantin, always there to invite artists from all backgrounds to come up with ever more creative projects! In 2016 Stevie Wonder's discography includes no less than 23 studio albums, three film music albums, four live albums and 98 singles. He has sold more than 100 million albums, received 22 Grammy Awards and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song during a career that spanned more than half a century. Stevie Wonder fights racial inequality. Living for the City was written for a ten-year-old child shot dead by New York police. This song proves that the melodist knows how to put his lyrical talent at the service of an essential cause. Since 1968, many voices have called for the establishment of a national holiday in memory of Martin Luther King. While President Carter was in favor of this claim. But it was not until 1983, the vote of Congress – despite the opposition of President Reagan – that this day saw the light of day. In the meantime, Stevie Wonder had written and sung Happy Birthday, an anthem symbolizing the fight for civil rights. The artist was involved in this cause like never before.
