Jeanne Michard Latin Quintet

The new nugget of the French jazz scene sets up her Latin 5tet project, which in less than a year has acquired a high profile on the jazz scene. Her compositions bring together the worlds of jazz, Latin and Afro-Cuban music, blending traditional rhythms with the cadences and phrasing attributed to the bebop jazz movement of the 40′. The idea was to create original music that would continue the gesture of Dizzy Gillespie. The percussion duo blows out a distinctive groove, while the tenor saxophone melodies tell stories, reveries... dreams.
