All of the original compositions that constitute it are brought to the highest level by Canadian double bassist Chris Jennings and Algerian drummer-singer-composer Karim Ziad, themselves polyglot adventurers. Aubaile imagined each of these pieces as postcards dedicated to those he calls “traffickers”; poets who move askew, as if going against time, who feed on everything and nothing, thus creating singular riches. Despite the multiplicity of its components, the complexity of its metrics and the subtlety of its structures, the music of David Aubaile offers itself, limpid and accessible, because it is delivered with a generosity and a talent which places it both off the track, and right at the heart of what our time needs so much: an invigorating and joyful ode to a world without barriers - Daniel Yvinec
