Orchestre Natl De Jazz Luxembourg Feat. Morgane Ji

On July 8, 2017, the music of Morgane Ji took center stage at a concert by the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg, as part of the Festival International d'Echternach. For the first time, the Reunionese singer-songwriter's repertoire was presented to the public in a version reworked by arrangers Gast Waltzing and David Laborier.

In this innovative project, Morgane Ji's "deep and sensual, animal and warlike" voice combines with the powerful sound of an 18-strong Big Band to form a powerful, spellbinding symbiosis. The project has already proved a great success with audiences in Luxembourg and France. It marks a new moment in the trajectory of the ONJL, which is now open to the pop/rock/electro universe of Morgane Ji.
The Big Band is orchestrated and directed by Gast Waltzing who has composed over 160 soundtracks for film and television. 
He also won a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Album in the "World Music" category for his collaboration with singer Angélique Kidjo on the album Sings.
