#Jazzdedemain Xavier Belin

Considered “the new star of West Indian jazz” by TSF Jazz, Xavier Belin’s first album, “Pitakpi”, was critically acclaimed and named “Revelation” by Jazz Magazine.
Coming from a mixed family, the bassist immersed himself in the Martinican Creole culture of his maternal grandfather, integrating Caribbean music into his conception of groove and rhythmic placement. L’Humanité describes him as “a gentle dynamiter of borders”.
The terms “Caribbean jazz” and “Creole jazz”, often used to define his music, are pleonasms for him, but nevertheless remain the most appropriate to describe his influences and his musical creation. “PLEONASME” is an opportunity to pay homage to jazz standards from these Creole cultures, with very talented musicians.
For 15 years, #JazzDeDemain has offered young artists the opportunity to perform on stage and refine their repertoire with the public, through a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies. It is a promising and dynamic space where creativity and emulation are limitless. #BeCurious!
