Charlotte Isenmann Quintet is the result of a meeting between five musicians from the Paris Conservatories.
The project, created in 2022 by Charlotte Isenmann, the group's flutist, began as a quartet. Inspired by the world of modern and free jazz, and by musicians on the current jazz scene such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Walter Smith, Aaron Parks and Ben Wendel, the four musicians play a repertoire ranging from personal compositions and jazz standards to free jazz and modern repertoire.
In 2024, after several concerts as a quartet, Charlotte Isenmann decided to expand the group and add clarinettist Lucien Lacquement. Gradually, the group's aesthetic took shape, with the desire to find a more personal expression. The result is music with a wide range of emotions, borrowing from jazz and classical, and constantly evolving.
Lucien Lacquement: bass clarinet
Vladimir Sekula: piano
Gabriel Sauzay: double bass
Antonio Barcelona: drums
