THE BLAKETTES

THE BLAKETTES
“The Art Blakey Women's Band
Is a Bebop Hardbop jazz band, created by four women madly in love with this diabolical American jazz born between the 50s and 60s on the East Coast of the United States of America. THE BLAKETTES honor the founding fathers and mothers of this energetic and romantic music known as Hardbop. Thanks to the multitude of composers, arrangers and performers from this era, THE BLAKETTES draw on, revisit and cook up a rich, lively repertoire.
They invite you on a journey to the heart of 60's Jazz, paying tribute with passion to its creators: Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton Pharoah Sanders, and many others...
