With her raspy, sassy voice that's as sweet as it is sensitive, Bette Smith breathtakingly fuses the soul, rock & roll, funk, blues and gospel she heard growing up in Brooklyn into something unique.

His new album Goodthing (July 12, 2024 / Kartel Music Group) was produced in the UK with Jimmy Hogarth, winner of numerous Grammys (for Amy Winehouse, James Blunt, Sia and Tina Turner, among others). In his words: "Bette is real. She tells the truth and touches your heart. She's able to convey her feelings with ease, thanks to her wonderfully gifted voice."
Bette Smith has collaborated with artists such as Jimbo Mathus, Kirk Fletcher, Patterson Hood and Matt Patton (of the Drive-By Truckers) and has received critical acclaim in the pages of The New York Times, Billboard, Paste, Bust and more; Her music has been heard on airwaves from NPR World Café, in the top 40 of the Americana Music Radio Chart, to Spotify's official playlists, where her song has been streamed over a million times. MOJO called her "Brooklyn's next big-voiced soul sensation".
