Jazz is a living music, nourished by the legacy of its great masters. Among them, Charles Mingus, double bass player, composer, bandleader and pianist, marked the history of jazz with his creative genius, his social commitment and his fiery temperament. He blended bebop, hard bop, free jazz, symphonic jazz and gospel, creating a music that was personal, powerful and subtle.
To pay tribute to him, French double bassist and composer Pierre Marcus, who has played with many outstanding jazz musicians, offers an exceptional quintet concert.
Come and discover or rediscover the music of Charles Mingus!
