#Jazzdedemain Ellinoa Presents Mejiro

Ellinoa is an atypical artist who captivates with her scintillating voice, her inhabited improvisations and the richness of her universe. Expressed as much through her voice as in her writing, Ellinoa places musical exploration at the heart of her artistic approach.

This evening she presents to us the repertoire of MEJIRO, a sextet which takes its name from a small endemic Japanese sparrow with a jerky but melodious song, but also from a district of Tokyo. Japan, under the intimate prism. Among the inspirations, the jumbled cities Joe Hisaishi (composer of Hayao Miyazaki), but also Björk, Bartok, the Danish String Quartet... Between jazz, chamber music and folk, a writing full of contrasts and poetry.

Created in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain niche gave birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experience the stage, to explore a repertoire, while presenting it to the public.
