Recognized as one of the leading trumpeters of his generation, Fabien Mary is a key figure on the French jazz scene. He is also a composer and arranger, as demonstrated by his octet album “Left Arm Blues” and, more recently, the albums “Too Short” and “Reload” written for the Vintage Orchestra.
A precise and inspired improviser, it's at the head of a quartet that he's most often found, a perfect formula for showcasing his qualities as a soloist, through a repertoire mixing originals and compositions by musicians such as Joe Henderson, Cedar Walton, Freddie Hubbard and Kenny Dorham.
For this concert, he invites New York saxophonist Frank Basile, with whom he has been collaborating for some fifteen years. Frank Basile is one of the world's leading baritone sax specialists. He has performed with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Jimmy Heath Big Band, Dizzy Gilespie All-Star Big Band, Bob Mintzer Big Band, Joe Lovano Nonet, Michael Bublé, Christian McBride Big Band, Dave Holland Big Band etc...
Frank Basile: baritone saxophone
Laurent Marode: piano
