Blue Moon Quartet

Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening that revives the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).

Chet Baker, singer and trumpeter in turn, West Coast jazz dandy, adventurer and storyteller with a thousand incredible stories... A multifaceted man, a traveling musician, who recorded more than 700 pieces during his lifetime, popular songs, light and whispered melodies in this very particular timbre, both fragile and of impeccable accuracy. A musician with extraordinary talent, who knew how to make jazz accessible to the whole world. Trumpeter and singer Thomas Renwick surrounds himself with three talented musicians from the Parisian scene, Rémy Gauche and Alexandre Arnaud (guitars) and François Bernat (double bass) to pay tribute to him.

The quartet was inspired by the music of the master: delicacy, skill, intuition... If Chet's most emblematic titles are performed there, the quartet also offers original compositions and arrangements, carefully avoiding cliché. MOON QUARTET's music is eclectic, alternating between swings and lively rhythms, ballads and other Latin tempos.
