Thomas Delor Trio

Few drummers assume the role of leader and composer. With rare exceptions, the results often sacrifice the subtleties of melodic and harmonic development, solely in favor of asymmetrical measures and complex tempo changes: the trio of French musician Thomas Delor, accompanied by guitarist Simon Martineau and double bassist Georges Correia, radically breaks the rule.

Thomas Delor has succeeded in turning his trio into a unique group, with an unusual language, inimitable nuances and subtle yet explosive creativity. His compositions, arrangements and interpretations follow a similar, identifiable treatment from the very first note, based on an exploration of his instrument that seems limitless, transforming it into a delicate blend of rhythmic melodist and colorist.
