Severino Dias De Oliveira, nicknamed SIVUCA, was one of Brazil's most brilliant multi-instrumentalists, particularly in the Nordeste forró genre. His instrument of choice was the accordion, but he was equally adept on guitar, piano and percussion. Also a singer, composer, arranger and bandleader, he inspired many jazz musicians, including saxophonist Hermeto Pascoal, accordionist Richard Galliano and harmonica and guitarist Toots Thielemans.

With this project, Frédéric Viale wishes to pay tribute to one of his heroes. The repertoire includes some of Sivuca's finest compositions, as well as those he loved to play, and compositions by his friends Hermeto, Dominguinhos and Luizao Maia.

A festive music where Brazilian grooves, melodies and rhythms dance with the beautiful harmonies and freedom of jazz.

A musical communion and good humor guaranteed by great musicians.

Filipe MONTEIRO (guitar)
Christian PACHIAUDI (bass)
Cedric LE DONNE (drums, percussion)
