Julien Routtier Quartet — ‘Katabasis’

Julien Routtier Quartet is a French jazz band formed in 2022 in Dammarie les Lys, 
whose repertoire is essentially made up of original compositions by Julien 
Routtier, the project's creator. The group's members are all graduates of the Centre des 
Musiques Didier Lockwood. 

The deep, rich compositions are in the Spiritual Jazz vein, inspired in large part by Monk 
by Monk, Mingus and Coltrane, and draw on diverse influences such as bebop 
influences such as bebop, hard bop, post-bop, avant-garde jazz... 

Always sharing, but never demonstrating, the members become storytellers and poets.
