Meeting of Pointures for a tribute to the immense singer of the 70's and 80's. Under the persistent weight of the Blues, Rhythm n'Blues were born, then Soul music, in which the entire black American community would recognize itself during the 1950s and 1960s, and which would irrigate all the Pop and Funk culture of the 1970s and 1980s. After a career start noted for his very personal way of singing, Al Jarreau really took off in 1980 with the album "This Time" then in 1981 "Breakin' Away". Covering both jazz and pop songs, he is the only singer to have won a Grammy Award in three different categories to date, namely Jazz, R&B and Pop. Born on Mauritius Island, Linley Marthe is deeply marked by this music which frames all his learning of the electric bass, emblematic instrument of this era as well as the Fender Rhodes keyboard, both having earned their stripes with the most advanced instrumentalists of their time.
Passionate about music Hervé Saint-Guiron is a trumpeter, drummer, organist and passionate about piano in particular. When I ask him his influences Sam Yahel, Larry Goldings, Brad Meldhau, Bud Powell, Errol Garner, Herbie Hancock for the richness of his talent or the guitarist Wes Montgomery. A distinguished Jazz Soul singer, Bruno Edjenguélé, has worked with Youssou N'Dour, Michel Jonasz, Tribal Jam, Teri Moïse, and others Luther Vandross, founding member of the group DELAVOIX and great fan of soul funk of those years
Roger Biwandu, very young, went on tour with artists like Biréli Lagrène (at 16), the late Pierre Vassiliu (at 18) and Jacques Higelin (at 22), not to mention that he was also a member of Bordeaux groups like Post Image which just celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2007, and the group Tribal Jam of which he was the musical director.

BRUNO EDJENGUELE vocals
HERVE SAINT-GUIRONS keyboards/piano
