Mario Bakuna proposes to celebrate with the public two of the most important artists of all time: the saxophonist Stan Getz and the Brazilian musician João Gilberto, in a tribute to the iconic album Getz/Gilberto. This album, recorded in 1963, is considered to be the one that popularized bossa nova worldwide and is one of the best-selling jazz records of all time, with over a million copies sold. It was widely acclaimed by music critics, won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, and became the first non-American album to win the Album of the Year award in 1965.

Brazilian composer/arranger/singer/guitarist, Mario Bakuna is currently based in London, United Kingdom. In recent years, he has become a leading figure and reference in the Brazilian jazz scene in the United Kingdom. Celebrated for his captivating performances of Bossa Nova, Brazilian Jazz, Samba, Latin Jazz and Jazz standards, he combines modern and groovy sounds to create a unique musical experience. Bakuna has extensive experience in Europe and beyond, and concerts for his two albums Where Rio de Janeiro Meets Bahia and Brazilian Landscapes have toured 18 European countries, Brazil, Canada, Madagascar, Egypt, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, with sold-out shows and much acclaim.
