A musical adventurer whom Michel Petrucciani didn't fail to spot early on, Thierry Maillard entered the École Normale de Musique de Paris at the age of 14, in harmony, counterpoint, piano and accordion classes, and obtained his teaching diploma at 17. A relentless orchestrator, he has recorded 19 albums as a leader. Classically trained, he soon discovered jazz and its freedom of expression after completing his studies. From that moment on, he unveiled a new musical genre imbued with his own experiences and encounters, where classical writing, jazz and world music blend harmoniously.
