« Irresistible Swedish Soul » - ROLLING STONE 2020
Since a first EP (4 stars in Rolling Stone), the Swedish singer Little Ellen (alter-ego of Ellen Birath) continues her route through the twists and turns of the 70's, sailing between melodic soul and soaring folk.

"Little Ellen is much bigger than me," says Birath from her alter ego. "She's more carefree, more rock and roll, she lets me channel a lot of things. And above all, she loves beautiful melodies."
But the two characters share some striking similarities.
Born in the early 1990s, they are both marked by the eruption of brit pop, remnants of their parents' vinyl collection, a few 'Greatest Disco Hits' compilations and several mislabeled Minis iPod's of mp3s from Limewire and Napster.
Both left home at 18 with a rock n roll dream, and both are trying to navigate the indie market in the time of streaming.
Little Ellen is not so much an alter-ego as a feeling. A way to channel the pressure to succeed in today's anxious music industry. When all you care about are the beautiful melodies and their human reactions.
For this intimate concert at the Jazz Club Etoile she will be surrounded by Manuel Faivre, multi-instrumentalist & composer, and Philippe Devin, guitarist.

Ellen Birath (Vocal), Philippe Devin (Guitar), Manuel Faivre (Bass, guitar, trumpet).
